long ago I used to make macaroni & cheese
at some point I added ham, & later I also added vegetables
an apparent dairy allergy caused me to omit the cheese & milk
later an apparent gluten allergy caused me to omit the macaroni
here’s how I make it now
olive oil
1 onion
2 carrots
2 celery stalks
1 sweet pepper
1 summer squash
a few cloves of garlic
fresh ground black pepper
coriander, mustard, ginger, fennel seed
small ham steak
chop veg & ham into approx 1/2” pieces
saute veg in oil until somewhat soft
add pepper & flavorings
add ham & cook until the veg are the way you like them
